Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, President of Tikrit University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Nihad Ali Shafiq, Dean of the College of Education/Tuz Khurmatu, the University Psychological Counseling Unit organized an awareness seminar titled "Suicide Prevention."
The seminar featured lectures by Dr. Shamal Rahim Karim and Assistant Lecturer Azad Obaid Ahmed. Held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Arabic Language Department Hall, the session covered several key thematic pillars:
- Conceptual Framework: Defining suicide linguistically and terminologically.
- Etiology: Examining the underlying causes of suicide.
- Prevention Strategies: Proactive measures and intervention.
- Legal Perspective: The status of suicide under Iraqi Law.
- Religious Perspective: The stance of Islamic Sharia on suicide.
